‘Plein air’ oil paintings completed in the field.
These paintings are all done on location and I don’t touch them up in the studio. Some are 20 minutes sketches, others were done over a couple of hours. I do these studies in order to better understand nature, and stay connected with it, which not only nourishes me but allows me to compose the backgrounds for studio paintings.
